Revolution in Psychoanalysis

Susanne Schade

Revolution in psychoanalysis

How do you want to revolutionise psychoanalysis if the result is a different kind of psychoanalysis? The revolution begins in the practical work with patients from very different cultures and the theoretical considerations derived from this. The essays do indeed draw on various currents of political psychoanalysis, which had been suppressed by the emigration of many Jewish psychoanalysts, and at the same time there are many references to gender studies and cultural studies. Only through an intersectional perspective and the consideration of multiple forms of discrimination such as race, gender, culture or religion and many others can we get a picture of people's symptoms and their healing.
